We dream. We all dream for a better hope. For a better tomorrow. For a better beginning. For a better ending. We all dream to live comfortably, to attain world peace. We all dream that violence flees the streets and people learn to live in harmony. We all dream for a better world.
Is that even possible when the universe is overpopulated with selfishness? Can we even attain such a thing when our Earth is bombarded with self-centeredness? How can we breath when the air is polluted with the thrill of self-seeking? How can we grow when egotism is intertwined with our roots. How can we expand when our wings are cut with scissors of metal drenched with narcissism?
Was there ever even a time when humanity rejoiced for one another? Or was there always that underlining thread of secret envy? That thread that has now been knitted into a full blown quilt of hatred and maliciousness. That thread that is now used to tie around each others necks in a desperate attempt to not let each other breathe. That thread that is now being used to tie each others feet together in hopes of making each other trip, tumble, trip and fall.
So stop. Stop dreaming for a better world when what we really need are better hearts. Better thoughts. Better motives. How can we wish for a good world, but cringe with jealousy when good arrives to our neighbor? How can we wish for a better world when we constantly throw our words full of garbage into the air? We are seated at the center or our hearts leaving room for no one but ourselves. And until we realize that a better tomorrow follows a better us…then we will sit here in this world that will never improve until we change our heart.
